Day started with a dewy outfield.  It was a prompt start with Compton and Chandlers Ford opening up against Tichborne Park.  

An early record for Ryan Shutte of Ventnor who retired after getting 25 in 6 balls.  He faced two other but they were wides.  This record was held by Paul Primmer of Tichborne who achieved this with 8 balls in 1998.

By lunchtime the sun was shining through the clouds, the beer had been selling and the hog roast was ready.

John Birchell scored two sixes in one over for Ventnor against the Hampshire Hogs .
